In photography, there is a lot of talk about branding, and how you represent your brand. For Creative Visions Photography, it's just me and I am my brand. My website is filled with purple accents, my favorite color. The photos that fill the pages are images of real life. Some of my favorite images that I take are the ones taken between the posed smiley ones. I want my images to look like my clients, not a perfectly photoshopped model, so I do my best to make sure that we have a fun environment for every session so that clients can relax and be themselves. I have a deep love of composing magical romantic moments on a wedding day because I am a hopeless romantic. At every wedding I strive to go beyond just taking pictures by helping support the bride in any way she needs (think extra bridesmaid, but with a camera and not in a dress!). When I leave a wedding, I always feel a little sad to say goodbye to the couple and bridal party! I love when one of my couples adds to their family and I get to take baby pictures for them because I get to continue that relationship built through the wedding. It is one of my dreams to one day photograph a wedding for someone who I have photographed since they were a newborn and also photographed their parents' wedding.
I am always working to improve my photography skills by continuing to learn from both online courses and live courses with top professionals in the industry as well as entering print competition to push myself to grow creatively. I am also striving to improve the customer service experience for my clients beyond the session. Since the beginning of the year, I have been viewing images together with clients through an online meeting so that I can hear their their response to the images, help pick out favorites, and talk about anything that may need to be changed. I have really enjoyed this new process and I believe my clients have too! They say that they really enjoy being able to go through the images with me and talk about things that can be edited if they want and appreciate my perspective on what would look great in print.
In addition to my passion for capturing memories and the beauty of life, I am also a pediatric occupational therapist. This means that I am very much able to have fun with little ones to get great pictures. It also means that I am a very loving, compassionate person who wants nothing more than to see the people that I care about happy. I try hard to be flexible to help make schedules work out for the good of my clients, whether that is in my job as an OT or as a photographer. For ten years, I have been the camp director for an overnight camp for kids with physical disabilities through the Disabled Athlete Sports Association. When I am not working, I love to run and hang out with my husband. Our favorite place to visit is California wine country, and because of my love for wine I started doing videos on Instagram that I'm calling them Wine Wedding Wednesday!
Okay, true confession time: I will bend over backwards to make my clients happy, but I am a little scattered and can be forgetful about communication if I don't have a chance to respond to a message right away. Possibly because of my love for all of my jobs and changing hats multiple times during a given day (particularly in the summer), or maybe this is just the way God made me. I am blessed to have loyal clients who are patient with me and just give me a gentle nudge to respond. So if you don't yet know me, I would love to work with you!! Just know that I will try my best to communicate promptly, but if I don't respond quickly...just send me another message! I feel very much that my photography and my business are a reflection of me. I am an open book and will tell people all about myself so if you have questions, just let ask!
